Introduction
This project explores the transformation of traditional tribal visual language into a modern functional product through geometric abstraction and additive manufacturing. The inspiration for the product comes from traditional Indian Worli art, known for its use of simple geometric human forms made from triangles and circles.
The design reinterprets the human figure seen in Worli paintings using the geometry of a stellated octahedron. Instead of using a direct figurative representation, the form was simplified into two connected triangular volumes joined at a single edge, creating a balanced and recognizable human-like structure.
The object functions as a key holder, where the extended arms act as hooks for hanging keys or lightweight accessories. The product combines:
- Cultural inspiration
- Geometric abstraction
- Functional utility
- Minimal material usage
- Rapid prototyping through 3D printing
The entire model was designed digitally and fabricated using an FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer.
